My Compounds
(My Friends!)

My friends are Fluorides, Chlorides, Bromides, Iodides, Oxides, Sulfides, Selenides, Tellurides, Nitrides, Carbonyls, and Complexes.

They all form different bonds with me but if you want to see the bonding we have check out this webpage.

My Story

I have to say my creator is Eugene Demarcay. He is from France so chances are I am from France too. I was discovered in 1901 and my original name is Europe. I was created when my friend Eugene seperated earth in reasonal pure forms form a material containing largely samarium. I wasn't always lonely til very recent.

My Jobs

I have a good high paying job.
I am a good neutron absorber and are used in nuclear control applications.
You know the color red in your nice televisions at home? That's me. Europium-doped plastic is a laser material and I am also an alloy.
