| My Nucleus contains nine protons and ten neutrons. i have 17 known isotopes, but only one of them has a stable half life. It has an atomic mass of nineteen. These isotopes have half lives ranging from 109.77 minutes to less than 40 nanoseconds. . | I have nine electrons i have 7 valence electrons | Atomic radius: 72 pm Melting Point: 53.53 K (-219.62°C or -363.32°F) Boiling Point: 85.03 K (-188.12°C or -306.62°F) Melting point [/K]: 53.53 [or -219.62 °C (-363.32 °F)] Atomic Mass:nine Atomic Weight: 18.9984032 Density: 0.001696 grams per cubic centimeter Room Temperature State: Gas Classification: Non-metal Period Number: 2 Group Number: 17 Group Name:Halogen Color: pale yellow i'mTOXIC! | |||||||||||||||||||||

| I am Element! I AM FLUORINE | My Compounds (My Friends!) Oxygen and Hyderogen are the most common halogens(halides). examples of these compounds are: O2F2- name: oxygen(I) fluoride, weight: 69.996, oxidation#: -1 OF2- name: oxygen (II) fluoride, weight: 53.996, Oxidation #: -1 HF- name: hydrogen(I) fluoride, weight: 20.006, oxidation #: -1 | |||||||||||||||||||||
My Story i was discovered in 1886 by Joseph Henri Moissan. i was named from the Latin word fluo, which translates to flow. i was obtained from mineral fluorite and have many uses. one of my uses is to be used as a refrigerant. | My Jobs i have many jobs. i am used in the synthesis of organic fluorine compounds. i am also used in the manufacture of Freon (i.e. dichlorodifluoromethane, CCl2F2) which is used as a refrigerant. i am involved in the manufacture of uranium hexafluoride which is required for the separation of the isotopes of uranium in centrifuges. |
