My Story I was discovered for the first time by a Swedish Chemist, Carl WilhelmScheele in 1772. Oxygen - which comes from a Greek word that means “acid-former”.	My Jobs When i am combined with nitrogen i create N2O. N2O is a also known as laughing gas and is used as an anesthetic in surgical operations. N2O is widely used as a propellant in aerosol cans for fast cars.
