My Compounds
(My Friends!)
Sodium compounds are important to the paper, glass, soap, textile, petroleum, chemical, and metal industries. Soap is generally a sodium salt of certain fatty acids. The importance of common salt to animal nutrition has been recognized since prehistoric times. Among the many compounds that are of the greatests industrial importance are common salt (NaCl), soda ash (Na2CO3), baking soda (NaHCO3), caustic soda (NaOH), Chile saltpeter (NaNO3), di- and tri-sodium phosphates, sodium thiosulfate (hypo, Na2S2O3) . 5H2O), and borax (Na2B4O7 . 10H2O).
What I look like

My Story:Discovered :
I derived from the English soda and the chemical symbol comes from the Latin 'natrium', which means the same.
Metallic sodium was first isolated by Sir Humphrey Davy in 1807 using the electrolysis of solid sodium hydroxide
April 25, 1957 1st experimental my nuclear reactor operated
June 13, 1933 I 1st vapor lamps installed, Schenectady, New York
I am used in the production of titanium, sodamide, sodium cyanide, sodium peroxide, and sodium hydride. Liquid I have been used as a coolant for nuclear reactors. I vapor is used in streetlights and produces a brilliant yellow light.

My Jobs
  • My metal is used in the preparation of tetraethyl lead, PbEt4, an important anti-knock reagent in leaded petrol (gasoline) - fortunately being phased out in many countries because of lead pollution problems
  • My metal is used in the preparation of titanium metal from TiCl4
  • the metal is used in the manufacture of sodamide, sodium cyanide, sodium peroxide, and sodium hydride
  • the metal is used in the reduction of organic esters, and in the preparation of organic compounds
  • the alloy with potassium, NaK, is an important heat transfer agent and a good chemical reducing agent (as some proportions of Na and K are liquid at room temperature).
  • sodium compounds including "common salt" (sodium chloride, NaCl), "soda ash" (sodium carbonate, Na2CO3), "baking soda" (sodium bicarbonate, NaHCO3, "bicarb"), and "caustic soda" (sodium hydroxide, NaOH), are important to the paper, glass, soap, textile, petroleum, chemical, and metal industries
  • sodium vapour is used in lamps for street lighting
  • table salt - don't use too much!

1/4 teaspoon salt
= 575 mg sodium
1/2 teaspoon salt = 1,150 mg sodium
3/4 teaspoon salt = 1,725 mg sodium
1 teaspoon salt = 2,300 mg sodium
1 teaspoon baking soda = 1000 mg sodium

Explosions
  • Latin: Natrium
  • Czech: Sodík
  • Croatian: Natrij
  • French: Sodium
  • German: Natrium - r
  • Italian: Sodio
  • Norwegian: Natrium
  • Portuguese: Sódio
  • Russian: graphic of Russian name for the element Sodium
  • Spanish: Sodio
  • Swedish: Natrium

Love is a telephone whiclouis vuitton handbagsh always keeps silent when you are longing for a call, but rings when you are not ready for it. As a result, we often miss the sweetness from the other end.

Love is a telephone which is seldom program-controlled or directly dialed. You cannot get an immediate answer by a mere "hello", let alone go deep into your lover's heart by one call. Usually it had to be relayed bylouis vuitton an operator, and you have to be patient in waiting. Destiny is the operator of this phone, who is always irresponsible and fond of laying practical jokes to which she may make you a lifelong victim intentionally or unintentionally.

Love is a telephone which is always busy, When you are ready to die for love, you only find, to your disappointment, the line is already occupied by someone else, and you are greeted only by a busy line. This is an eternal regret handed down from generation to generation and you are only one of those who languish for followers.

Love is telephone, but it is difficult to seize the center burberrytime for dialing, and you will let slip the opportunity if your call is either too early or too late.
