My nuclues consists of 52 Protons and 75 neutrons.

What is a proton?

Then, whats a neutron?

I have 52 electrons and six valence elctrons.

My Electon Cloud

I am mostly in my solid form. My melting point is 722.7 k. My boiling point is 1263.0 k.

I am a silvery, lustrous grey colour. I am semi-metalic. I am in the Chalcogen group. I am a p-type semiconductor. I show a greater conductivity in certain directions, depending on my alignment of atoms.

P-type conductivity,whats that?!

My home resides in the earths crust.

There is about 1x10^-3 millograms per kilogram.

Tellurium

Here i am in my solid form!

This is what i look like normally. As you can see, i have a rock type look to me, but I also have a metallic luster to myself.

YAY! This is me. I am an Element!

I have many compounds.
Here are some of the many compounds I have.

tellurium (IV) fluoride
tellurium chloride
tellurium bromide
tellurium iodide
tellurium oxide

this is what tellurium fluoride looks like:
tellurium (IV) fluoride

I was discovered by in the gold ores by Franz Joseph Moller von Reichenstein. He was the Cheif inspector of the mines in Romania, but i was not named by him. I was named by M. Klaproth. he isolated me in 17 98. He continued the research on me that Von Reichenstein.

I am usually used as an alloying agent. Small amounts of me are added to copper and stainless steal to make them easier to machine mill. I am also used in lead to strengthen it. One of my most favorite uses is in glass and ceramics. Another thing I'm used for is as one of the primary ingredients in blasting caps.

Can you beleive in in this beautiful peice of artwork!
